We want our hamster friends to be happy and enjoy life, so exercise and fun in essential for our pets’ well being. Both the Siberian dwarf hamsters and the Syrian need Hamster Toys to entertain them and keep them fit both physically and mentally.

Chip and Chap love to climb and as all hamsters, love to burrow.

The hamster toys we have for them are

• A Hamster Wheel

• A small labyrinth made from old toilet rolls

• Logs and ladders they can climb over.

Hamster Toys can be bought but a great part of the fun with having a pet is making and building things for it and hamster toys are easy to make! A few old toilet rolls can be put together to form a labyrinth and some pieces of wood can glued or nailed together to create things for them to clime over. But be careful there are no sharp edges or nails sticking out that could harm your pet.

A hamster wheel is perhaps the only hamster toy you will need to buy, these are cheap and easily available.

Be careful to buy the right size wheel for your hamster and I would recommend a clear plastic one so you can watch your pet exercise.

Another useful hamster toy is what is known as a “run about”. These are transparent plastic balls with a secure lid and are great hamster toys! Chip and Chap love running all over the lounge floor in their “run about”, it gives them plenty of exercise and somehow they seem to be more a part of the family because they’re no longer in the cage. However remember to keep an eye on you pets they can travel far in their little balls and be very careful not to tread on them.
